ESCC is the brand of city compost that gets manufactured at various Bulk Waste Generators (BWGs), Community Composting plants and decentralised plants managed by Eswachh.
City Compost is a biodegradable organic fertiliser that is made from plant & vegetable material. The fertiliser provides major nutrients like Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, Manganese, Calcium, Magnesium and others. It also enriches soil with micro nutrients like Boron, Zinc, Molybdenum, Iron, etc. In addition to the nutrients, City Compost is enriched with nitrogen-fixing bacteria, which promotes the activity of good bacteria in the soil.

Also, with increasing food demand and depleting soil quality, city compost plays a very important role as a replacement or supplement to chemical fertilisers in replenishing the nutrient-depleted soil. That’s why compost must reach our farmers.
To create a demand for quality compost, Eswachh ensure that robust waste management systems are developed in cities, with source-segregation. The city compost made at Eswachh Plant meets all the 22 parameters specified by fertiliser control order (FCO).There is clearly a need and demand for quality city compost in India.
